An Engagement Story

Most recently I had the oppurtunity to photograph engagement pictures for two people who are very close to me; my brother and his fiancee :)

Jen and Peter were engaged in June but have a long wait till the big day arrives. Hopefully the day arrives fast. In the meantime Jenn is having fun with all the planning and was very excited to have some engagement photos taken.

It was actually raining most of the time we did these pictures but these guys are troopers especially Peter who really wasn't too keen on the whole idea:)

We ran in to trouble with some of my neighbours when we used their properties for some poses. Oops!

When we were almost finished the sun suddenly decided to poke through!! So we managed to get afew gorgeous sunset pics:)

Congratulations you guys!! You did great. can't wait till the big day. May the Lord bless you in the days leading up to your marriage.

Daddy's Girls

Derek and Jeanette were not strangers to my camera. The first time behind it was when I photographed their wedding almost two years ago. Its amazing to watch how time flies and how families grow as they now have been blessed with two beautiful girls.

As you can see the girls were stars!! They were both full of smiles and we had lots of fun capturing them.

We debated about visiting some of the "typical" locations for photographs but in the end Jeannette decided we would just stick to a pretty road that she had walked with a family member in the past. With the beautiful sunset shining in the trees we couln't have asked for a better setting.

Sometimes almost two year olds are best captured doing what they do best: playing. Which was exactly what we did with the oldest of the two:)

The four of you are a beautiful family and I look forward to capturing more memories for you as the years go on!

Add one more. . . and BABY makes four!!

Amanda and Derek and their adorable son Aiden were planning on having some family pictures earlier this summer, but due to a small mishap (and a big goose egg) we had to reshedule. So when we did this family portrait session they were only weeks a way from welcoming their newest addition. No worries though we still had a lot of fun (even if the hills were a little difficult to climb!) and managed to get some great portraits.

The promise of the lake was the bribe that kept Aiden happy and smiling through most of the pictures!!

Its hard to decide who Aiden takes after more, his mommy or daddy, either way he is a cutie! I can't wait meet his newest sibling:)

Thanks guys!! You were great models, hopefully we will be able to do it again when baby number two makes his or her way in to the world!

True Love

When I first met Joe and Kristin I knew I wanted to be the one to photograph their wedding pictures! They are so happy together and it was easy to see they were excited for the day to arrive!

This is the year of the rain I think because once again morning arrived to a downpour. But Kristin's family home had a huge window that overlooked a beautiful garden so the rain was not a bother at all!

I found this sign on the table. . . I'm not sure where exactly it was for but I had to snap a picture it was so cute.

The white calla lily's were stunning . Kristin has great taste and all her details coordinated perfectly; flowers, dresses, invitations. . .

When it was time for " the kiss" Joe surprised everyone . . . (or at least me) by swooping Kristin down for romantic dip.

Family pictures made fun!

The wedding party was great, they were up for any idea and had all the moves when it came to posing:)

The rain turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the post ceremony pictures! We went down to Niagara-on-the-Lake and because of the wet it was not as busy as usual so we found a parking space easily and were able to roam the park without feeling too congested. What a great location. I could have been there all day.

Joe and Kristin I really enjoyed spending the day with you and your wedding party. All the best in your future endeavours and may the Lord guide your decisions as you embark on your new life together.

A Beautiful Family

As a photographer you get to be there for all the rushing, anxiety, smiles and tears that only the bridal party and close family get to experience on a loved ones wedding day. So it was such a priviledge for me to be there to capture these memories for one of my best friends and her groom on their special day. Evan and Stephs wedding day came with special circumstances, not only did they become husband and wife but also a family of three as Evan's gorgeous daughter excitedly welcomed her new mom into thier lives.

I love all the little details on a wedding morning! But I am always nervous when I ask to photograph the brides engagement ring! Imagine I misplaced it. . .

One of three flower girls. They were adorable.

I guess I should have said family of four. Steph would not want me to leave out Coco as part of the family!

The girls and I went to a local "sweet shop" for pictures. I'm sure not all the customers were too pleased when we took over the space even jumping behind the counter for some fun shots!

I loved the "back in the day" feel of the train station where we photographed the wedding party.

The similarity between Evan and his daughter was impossible to miss. She is his spitting image!

We didn't paint the graffiti ourselves so thanks to whoever did!

Steph is the youngest of all these sisters!! It was so neat when her dad did his speech as he saw a little bit of each in Steph's personality. . .

Attention to detail!! The reception venue was adorable!! Everything matched and nothing was forgotten!
I absolutely love this one!! There were a few girls who looked ready to commit murder in order to snag that bouquet!! So much fun!
Evan and Steph I could not have asked for a better way to enjoy the day with you!! I had a lot of fun and I know you did too ( just try to forget that unattractive moment where I couldn't get up off the ground; inside joke:) You are a beautiful family and I pray that the Lord watches over you as you grow together in Him.
