Family. . .

Tim and Virginia are good friends of ours so I was excited when she asked if I could take "a few" updated pictures of them. Three hundred plus pictures later I can't decide which ones to post on the blog, they all turned out so great!! We had great weather, perfect light and even two year old Owen was quite willing to cooperate (as long as we let him run free every once in a while). Thanks so much guys, here are a few. I can't wait to show you the rest:)

I'm Gonna be an Aunty (again:)!!

Because I am the oldest in my family I had my own baby before I became an aunt but now I am lucky enough to have an adorable two year old nephew Carter and hopefully within the week (yes its that close!!) he is going to welcome a new brother or sister!! Everyone in my family is so excited!! It seems like we have been waiting forever. Anyway my sister Erin and I thought we'd get a few baby bump pictures before it was too late. We went to a park near my house which turned out to be a mistake as far as Carter was concerned. He insisted on playing on the playground instead of "posing" for our pictures. We still managed to get a few and lots of really great ones of Erins belly:) Hopefully this post is the last time I see that belly!! Come on baby we want to meet you:)

Marc and Amanda: Wedding Bells

Spring is here and with the beautiful weather comes wedding season. I have a busy year ahead of me and am really excited to start putting to practice everything I've learned over the winter:) Marc and Amanda were a dream to photograph. There is nothing better than looking through the lens and feeling the excitement over what you know will be a gorgeous portrait!

I hope you both love your pictures as much as I loved taking them!

OH BABY!!!

Babies, babies!!! They are everywhere!! Along with my own precious baby daughter being born I can without exaggerating say that 85% of my friends had a newborn this year!!! I had the oppurtunity to photograph my baby girl at my cousins studio! Her lighting and back drop setting definitely had me drooling. . . someday hopefully sooner than later- I have already been dropping hints to my husband and reserved a spot in our new house for a studio. Anyway enough about that. My baby was a star!!! She slept the entire time and we could bend her in any way we wished:) Here she is wrapped up in a little cocoon.

I love their soft little bare bums!! So adorable:)

And my other baby!! He is getting so big but also difficult to photograph! He is much more interested in playing than in looking at the camera.

Camrynne has settled in nicely to our little family. She spends most of her time sleeping until the evening and then she wants to play !! I won't mind when this routine changes. . .

I love daddys rough work hands against her tiny little head such a contrast. I took this while we were still in the hospital.

As I said most of my friends joined me in the newborn boom this year! The most recent is a baby boy to our friends Amanda and Derek who I blogged about a couple months ago when this little guy was still hanging out in mommys belly!
He wasn't overly impressed but we still got some great images! He looked so nice against the white back drops.

Another friend had her third baby this year - a girl - after two older boys! So this little girl was a very welcome surprise! Hopefully she and my baby girl will have lots of fun together as they grow up. You gotta love baby feet!
She's already got an attitude! I couldn't help but laugh at her finger placement here! Hehe I am sure her dad will get a kick out of that:)
Little bum high in the air!! Isn't she adorable:)
It is not hard to see why us mommys and daddys want to keep bringing new little ones in to the world. They are just so precious!! If you are interested in having me photograph your little one or the whole brood give me a shout!! It'll be a lot of fun:)

An Engagement Story

Most recently I had the oppurtunity to photograph engagement pictures for two people who are very close to me; my brother and his fiancee :)

Jen and Peter were engaged in June but have a long wait till the big day arrives. Hopefully the day arrives fast. In the meantime Jenn is having fun with all the planning and was very excited to have some engagement photos taken.

It was actually raining most of the time we did these pictures but these guys are troopers especially Peter who really wasn't too keen on the whole idea:)

We ran in to trouble with some of my neighbours when we used their properties for some poses. Oops!

When we were almost finished the sun suddenly decided to poke through!! So we managed to get afew gorgeous sunset pics:)

Congratulations you guys!! You did great. can't wait till the big day. May the Lord bless you in the days leading up to your marriage.

Daddy's Girls

Derek and Jeanette were not strangers to my camera. The first time behind it was when I photographed their wedding almost two years ago. Its amazing to watch how time flies and how families grow as they now have been blessed with two beautiful girls.

As you can see the girls were stars!! They were both full of smiles and we had lots of fun capturing them.

We debated about visiting some of the "typical" locations for photographs but in the end Jeannette decided we would just stick to a pretty road that she had walked with a family member in the past. With the beautiful sunset shining in the trees we couln't have asked for a better setting.

Sometimes almost two year olds are best captured doing what they do best: playing. Which was exactly what we did with the oldest of the two:)

The four of you are a beautiful family and I look forward to capturing more memories for you as the years go on!

Add one more. . . and BABY makes four!!

Amanda and Derek and their adorable son Aiden were planning on having some family pictures earlier this summer, but due to a small mishap (and a big goose egg) we had to reshedule. So when we did this family portrait session they were only weeks a way from welcoming their newest addition. No worries though we still had a lot of fun (even if the hills were a little difficult to climb!) and managed to get some great portraits.

The promise of the lake was the bribe that kept Aiden happy and smiling through most of the pictures!!

Its hard to decide who Aiden takes after more, his mommy or daddy, either way he is a cutie! I can't wait meet his newest sibling:)

Thanks guys!! You were great models, hopefully we will be able to do it again when baby number two makes his or her way in to the world!
